Casey Bickness

Dear Owen,

I just had to write you and Thank You for all your help with my son Casey when we were in real need.

My son Casey Bicknell is a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor from an auto accident that almost took his life….twice. Casey spent three months at St. Mary’s Med Center ICU. He was then med flighted still in a coma to the Shepherd Center, Atlanta. He spent the next three months there when he was med flighted back to St. Mary’s. Soon after we were told that Casey is being discharged for home! What? Why? He is in a coma state, but stable. As loving Parents we were so scared! We are not Doctors, Nurses, Therapists; what do we know about caring for a TBI loved one?

Then we were told about Clinics Can Help and your Clinic “DID” Help!! I came to you saying I need a hosp bed. I would have been so grateful for that, but you wanted to do MORE. You took the time to care by asking about my son Casey’s condition. Then with your knowledge you began to GIVE MORE than I asked for. You said you will need this and that etc…. I was both overwhelmed with ALL that was NEEDED and How Much this is going to COST? I pulled out my check book and asked How Much? You said Nothing!! I cried, no one in my life has ever cared to offer us help and for free. I gave a small donation to help you help others like my son.

Since this time I have been in contact with other families who like Casey are also TBI survivors and who needed help as well. I referred them to you Owen and Clinics Can Help. They contacted me back to say what a blessing it was to have you there when they too needed Clinics Can Help. Owen, feel very proud of Who you are and What You are doing for so many. Please keep up the great work.

Casey is slowly getting better, more aware of his surroundings and responding back to me with eye blinks and thumbs up signs to communicate. I can’t wait until that day when I can introduce you to Casey and he can shake your hand.

Forever Grateful,
Barry Bicknell
