At United Way of Palm Beach County, our mission is to improve measurably the lives of individuals and families in Palm Beach County by uniting the resources of donors, volunteers, agencies and the community.

Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc. chartered in 2001, is Palm Beach County's
leading public healthcare foundation. Believing that "Together we can do
more," the foundation's mission is to inspire and fund solutions to improve
health in Palm Beach County. Since 2001 the foundation has distributed
nearly $40 million to over 95 non-profit organizations in Palm Beach County
operating over 130 programs.

Quantum Foundation logo

The Quantum Foundation is a perpetual grant making organization. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting a healthier population, improving access to care for uninsured and underinsured county residents, facilitating development of a coordinated and collaborative health care delivery system, increasing the number of health care professionals training and serving the County, improving sciences competency among primary and secondary school students, and improving the quality of life from the neighborhood level up by attacking root causes of public health problems. The mission of the Quantum Foundation is to advance health, education, and community betterment for the residents of Palm Beach County.

Since inception, Quantum has awarded 700 grants totaling over $80 million. In addition, we have forged partnerships both in and outside the county, resulting in more than $80 million in funds to complement our grant awards. The Foundation was formed in 1995 with the net proceeds from the sale of JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida.

Gulfstream Goodwill assists people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to become self-sufficient, working members of our community. Caridad Center logo

Caridad Center operates free medical and dental clinics that provide vital health services to the uninsured, working poor families of Palm Beach County. The Center has 350+ dedicated volunteers, including doctors, dentists, nurses, teachers, clinic assistants and administrative help. Caridad Center also offers homework assistance, college scholarships, holiday programs and emergency assistance for patients in financial crisis. $.87 of every dollar raised goes directly to their services and programs.

The Wheelchair Foundation is a nonprofit organization leading an international effort to create awareness of the needs and abilities of people with physical disabilities. With a mission of donating one million wheelchairs to people who cannot afford to buy one, they have witnessed hundreds of thousands of examples of how mobility creates independence. A mobile child is able to attend a school. A mobile adult is able to stay employed and provide for their family. The joy and hope that a simple mobility device can deliver is what gives people a new outlook on life and hope for the future.
